 1. Multiple Choice Questions

The multiple choice questions in the theory test are based on three books:

you will be asked 50 questions. You need to get 43 right to pass.

 2. Practice online

You can practise the multiple-choice part of the driving theory test. Take free mock tests for:

  • cars

  • motorcycles

  • lorries

  • buses and coaches

 3. Hazard Perception

Hazard Perception is the second part of the UK theory test aimed to examin how well you can spot developing hazards. A developing hazard is something that would cause you to take action like changing speed or directions. For example, A car is parked at the side of the road and isn't doing anything. It wouldn't cause you to take action, so it's not a developing hazard. When you get closer, the car's right-hand indicator starts to flash and it starts to move away. You'd need to slow down, so it's now a developing hazard.

There are 14 video clips in the test. 13 of these have one developing hazard but one clip will have two developing hazards.

You can get up to 5 points for each developing hazard, so you would need to click as soon as you see one. In total, you need to get 44 or more out of 75 points to pass this part.
